Shedding the Old to Begin the New

One of the first steps toward a new "anything" is to get rid of the old. You develop a new habit by replacing the old one with something better. You usher in the New Year when you say "so long, farewell" to the old one. One thing you can never replace are old friends...you just add new ones!

We've begun the process of shedding our old life. First I found a home made in heaven for our cat, Cosmo, who would not adapt well to a houseboat. Thanks to co-worker Matt Janosko who is now spoiling Cosmo rotten. Blessing #1!

Next, we sold our home of nearly 16 years (home of record, I might add) earlier this week -- and didn't even list it! And got our asking price. Blessing #2!

This weekend we make the first of possibly three trips to check out marinas and look at real estate in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We're also planning trips to Savannah, Georgia and to Jacksonville, Florida. Just don't put me in any water where there's apt to be gators!
